The choice of weapon is a very personal decision. From brand and caliber to color. Like the movies we watch, the books we read, and the clothes we wear, we all have our own preferences and styles.

I feel like if you like a great two tone black stainless steel shotgun with a nice rosewood grip, if you think pink is cool, empowering and will help you on the range, then this is the one for you. What I find interesting, since most of us recognize that we are all unique, is that some people still believe that because I am a woman, I automatically prefer pink to any other color.

The mere thought of such an exchange in a gun store absolutely pisses me off! It seems completely stupid to me that if a man walks into a store, everyone will think that he wants a blue rifle just because he is a man. Just as stupid as it would be to assume that every woman who walks into your store wants a pink gun.

When I finally decided that Walter was exactly what I needed - perfect as he is - the man behind the counter said, "Do you want him in pink?" I turned my head, gave him a quick look and replied, “No, I don’t. I don’t want it to be pink.” He laughed and said something like he had to ask “these days” because some women want to make their weapons pink and "floral".

Sitting at the Easter dinner table, I asked the lovely ladies in my family what their favorite colors were. It just so happens that my grandma loves green, my aunt has always loved blue, my mom and I both love orange (hell, am I about to become a mom??!!), and my teenage cousin's favorite is pink. So, this is 1 pink mistress out of 5 women at the table. Yes, I know it's a small sample, but I still find it interesting.

It might be better to ask, "Would you like it as it is or in another color?", which is likely to ask the customer, "What colors does it come in/do you have it in orange?"

Just because pink and blue helps us recognize children more easily so we don't hurt their parents' feelings, and thank God for that, because I hate it when I call someone's cute boy a beautiful girl, doesn't mean that when we grow up women want everything in pink and men want everything in blue.

As a first time gun buyer, I was very scared when I walked into the gun shop. I wasn't sure what kind of firearm I wanted, how much money I wanted to spend, not to mention brand and caliber (my husband and I talked before we left and he offered me a .22 for training, but the decision was made). entirely on me). When we entered the store, the men behind the counter did not recognize me and immediately spoke to my husband.

To be honest, it really pissed me off. I was so proud of having taken a gun safety course and made the move to get a gun that I thought the people behind the counter would be at least a little excited about me too. Not that I was expecting high fives or a parade, I just thought it would be a little more hopeful and interesting.

After much deliberation, I went back and bought a Walther P22. On the advice of one of my girlfriends, I chose a gun that "felt like a glove" in my hand.

P22 Any Good ?

I've been to the training ground several times and so far I've had a great time with Walter. I learned that Walter dislikes all .22 cartridges and prefers CCI Mini Mag cartridges. I also found out that I have over 100 rounds to deliver to the shooting range... 100 go too fast!

Welcome to my blog!! I would like to share my journey into the world of guns, as well as my thoughts and experiences on the things I learn along the way and everything I want to talk about.

I am completely new to the world of weapons. About 2 years ago my husband said he would like to get a gun license. Believe it or not, it took us about 16 months to get them!! I didn't grow up with guns in the house, and in all my life I never understood why anyone would want a gun. For me, they were absolutely terrible and unnecessary. On the other hand, my husband grew up in a house full of guns, learned how to use them at a young age and really wanted to have them, and who am I to stop him from doing what he wants? This is not my style.

If we were going to have a gun in our house, I felt strongly that I needed to know more about it... no, in fact, I needed to know EVERYTHING about it. I wanted to know things like the crime rate in the United States, how many people die every year from firearms, why people carry them, the laws and, of course, how to use them.

The real opportunity to learn this information came when I was faced with choosing a topic for my final project in the MBA program I was studying. I wanted to test my education and see if I could come up with a business plan to start my own business... but I couldn't figure out what company it was, but I kept going back to the gun shop.

Why gun store? It seemed appropriate. I wanted to learn more about the industry and my first gun buying experience... it was crap. Overall, my project was inspired by an unpleasant experience I had while going through the process of buying my first gun as a woman. I don't think I need to say much about this as I keep hearing and reading about cases like this!

So I decided that my last project would be a strategic plan to open my own gun shop. The main project covers the last 2 semesters; I just enjoyed working on this project, it was so much fun. Since I'm new to gunsmithing, the research turned out to be very interesting and instructive, and I don't think I would have researched the arms industry on my own. Many things that I thought were true, based on my prejudice or lack of knowledge, turned out not to be true.

Gun Review: Walther P22 Qd

I can tell you that we won't be opening a gun store anytime soon! Maybe we could afford it if we won the lottery. I would like to work in a gun shop part time not only to handle all types of guns and learn more, but also to meet other gun owners, ask them questions and listen to their stories. Also, I think it would be great to see more ladies behind the counter. That being said, I don't think my heart is behind the counter, I think it's within reach. Help other women feel comfortable and receive the training they need. But becoming a coach is far away for me, I'm only at the beginning of my journey. But a girl can dream, right?

Now that I've awakened my appetite for knowledge and am learning more every day, I feel like it's time to get to know my weapon better, and that's where Walter comes in.
